Preface- Defying all InstinctsI was running, my breath coming out in white clouds of frigid air. All around me the heavens poured out icy, wet tears that melted as they landed on my hot skin. A chill went up my spine as I heard the distant howling of a wolf and ran even faster, zig-zagging through the barren trees ever deeper into the darkness. Underneath me the snow crunched with every step I took, which sent a fever of terror rushing all through me. Extra noise was the last thing on earth I needed right now.
